Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing (KNH) is responsible for almost 23,000 homes across Kirklees. Working with our communities it is our vision to provide, ‘Quality Homes and Services in successful communities’. We take our vision seriously and work hard to achieve this. 

In late 2016, KNH merged with Building Services from Kirklees Council which grew the organisation significantly. We now employ over 850 staff across six sites with a variety of roles which directly serve our customers and communities. Since the merger we have been through a process of business transformation and have reshaped our structures and services. 

The Job 

The main requirement of a Housing Officer is to deliver a customer focused holistic housing management service, which ensures income collection, efficient turnaround of properties, appropriate letting and tenancy management. They will provide early help to customers, by being accessible and working with customers to reach positive outcomes to sustain their tenancy. 

There are a number of functions within the Neighbourhoods’ Directorate including Housing Management, Income Management, Customer Support, Partnerships, Tenant Involvement and Employment Support.           

Housing Officers will work within a particular service area and will be required to deputise for their line manager and other Housing Officers across the Directorate. 

Travel is an essential part of this post and therefore it would be extremely difficult to do the job effectively without the use of a car for all or most of the time and it is expected that you will have access to your own car. Reasonable adjustments may be made for disabled applications who find this a barrier to their application.
