About Knowl Park House:
We are looking for new team members to join our exciting venture. Knowl Park House Dementia Day opportunities have recently moved into a new building based in Mirfield. The building has been specially designed for Dementia care. We will be looking after up to 50 service users each day. We offer a wide range of person-centred activities within the centre and out in the community.
Knowl Park House is a modern, fit for purpose, flexible day centre that will cater for up to 50 people living with dementia each day (currently Mon-Fri) when at capacity.
The dementia day service includes facilities that enhances enjoyment of life, offering services for people with dementia living in Kirklees.
The Role:
This post will give you the opportunity to work with a dedicated Team caring for service users with complex Dementia. We are a team who support each other on a daily basis to deliver stimulating and fun activities for our service users. At the end of each day we leave knowing that we have made a difference not only to our service users but to families also. Others would say about working at Knowl Park House how friendly the team are and what a fabulous, happy place it is to work. Our hours are Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00, although there is an expectation that you will work flexibly based on the needs of the service. The centre is closed on Bank Holidays.
As a support worker, you will be working with vulnerable adults, and as part of a team ensure quality care is given to our service users and carry out duties in line with service objectives, policies, procedures, and standards. These duties involve escorting individuals from their home on transport and taking them home, updating paperwork and maintaining service user records, serving service users meals, ensuring service users are happy, comfortable, and engaged, along with different personal care tasks.
A key part of the role is organising and facilitating activities for our service users. We’re looking for someone with great interpersonal skills that can plan, organise, deliver and develop high-quality person-centred activities either in the day centre or out in the wider community.
It is essential that you have a high level of understanding of Adult social Care. You must be able to demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional training and development and possess a basic awareness of Health and Safety issues and Food Hygiene.
While not essential for the role, we encourage applications form individuals who communicate in different languages for example Urdu, Gujarati, Hindi, etc.
