These vacancies are within our Housing Management teams. The job This role leads a team delivering high‑quality housing management services. You will provide strong leadership by acting as an ambassador for the service and a positive role model. You will be responsible for all aspects of staff management, including but not limited to: - Leading a high‑performing team to deliver excellent, customer‑focused services
- Staff support, supervision, development and training
- Working collaboratively with teams across Homes & Neighbourhoods and the wider council
- Building effective partnerships with internal and external agencies
- Managing staff absence and service resourcing
- Overseeing staff performance, including conduct and capability matters
- Monitoring performance to achieve service outcomes and meet regulatory requirements
- Problem solving and making decisions at pace
- Managing complaints and enquiries effectively
- Supporting delivery of business‑critical projects
- Identifying and managing risks and issues
- Leading and supporting change management
- Recruitment, induction and ongoing team development
- Deputising for the Housing Services Manager when required
A key part of the role is ensuring full compliance with the Regulator of Social Housing’s Consumer Standards, particularly the Neighbourhood and Community, Tenancy, and Tenant Involvement and Empowerment Standards. You will ensure your team operates in a way that supports strong tenant experience and contributes positively to performance against the Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSMs), including safety, neighbourhood management, ASB, communication, and overall satisfaction. Managers work in line with Kirklees Council’s core behaviours and values, supporting the Housing Services Manager and the Strategic Manager for Housing Services to deliver the organisation’s purpose, vision and objectives.
