We’re Kirklees…Are you?

We want Kirklees to be a place which combines a strong and sustainable economy with a great quality of life; a place with thriving communities, growing businesses, high prosperity, low inequality and where people enjoy better health throughout their lives.

The Kirklees economy is worth over £6bn, and as part of the Leeds City Region we are within the largest economy outside of London and the South East. We are also well placed at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse with easy access to South Yorkshire and Greater Manchester, excellent transport links via the M1 and M62, and fabulous countryside and strong heritage.

With our Local Plan agreed, our ambitious Huddersfield and Dewsbury Blueprints in place create modern, thriving and multi-purpose town centres and major rail infrastructure improvements in the pipeline there has never been a better time to join us and help seize the opportunities ahead.

As Strategic Partnerships Manager (Skills and Employment) you will lead a team responsible for identifying and delivering strategic skills and learning initiatives and for overseeing management of a portfolio of existing employment support and adult learning initiatives.

You will develop and maintain vital stakeholder relationships with investors, Government Departments, the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Leeds City Region LEP. You will work closely with the Head of Service and Service Director to help drive business growth in Kirklees.

Your successful track record of delivery with relevant professional experience will be key to your success. Just as important will be your values, attitude and approach, and the ability to work collaboratively with politicians, colleagues, partners and local businesses to ensure that our residents receive the best possible life chances and excellent services.
