We offer a start to finish service of providing adaptations and equipment, and support with rehousing to any Kirklees resident who is having difficulty with getting around their homes. We provide simple items such as grab rails and raised toilet seats, through to more complex items such as floor lifts and level access showers. The Housing and Health officers are a small team who work will all aspects of the wider team to ensure the smooth progressing of adaptation requests from initial receipt through to orders and payments. The team specifically deals with: - means testing of clients
- processing grant application forms and other documentation/consents
- preparation of grant approval documents
- orders and payments
- provide support to clients wishing to rehouse
It is a very busy, but very rewarding role – being able to support a client through the process, knowing that the outcome could make such a difference to their lives makes the busyness seem very worthwhile. Although a relatively small team, it is a very supportive one – and we help each other out with complex queries and work together to achieve the desired outcome. Kirklees Council offer a fantastic holiday entitlement of 27.5 days a year + Public Holidays (Rising to 32.5 + Public Holidays after 5 Years of service) Subject to Pro rata.
