An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Mental Health in Families team. 

The Mental Health in Families team sit within the Early Support service in Kirklees with a focus on early intervention and prevention, with a specific overarching objective to reduce the impact of Parental Mental Health on children. In order to fulfil this objective, the team co-locate at different times during the week with adult mental health teams, children’s social workers and early support teams. Consultants in the team are aligned to an area in Kirklees and co-locate within this area, to develop familiar links and networks. The day to day work of the team involves case consultation with the case holding professionals, using an analytical perspective to ascertain the lived experiences of children and families and work out how resilience can be increased within families affected by parental mental health. 

Consultants are skilled in identifying opportunities for upskilling case holding professionals with regard to the impact of parental mental health and training packages have been developed and are delivered by the team. Resources are also sought, developed and shared to support in case work and information, advice and guidance is provided to case holders as required by them.

We are looking to hire consultants with experience of whole family working, a working knowledge of restorative principles and evidence of analytical skills applied to assessment and planning work with families.
