Kirklees embraces workforce development and new entrants into the profession and as a consequence, is keen to recruit an Assistant Educational Psychologist to join and enhance our large friendly and enthusiastic team. This is an ideal opportunity for those wishing to pursue a career in Educational Psychology and who are intending to apply for a place on an EP training course for next year.
Our service has a broad and continually expanding remit within the local authority with a strong drive to promote inclusive practice and enhance the learning of all children and young people. We have a central role in the local authority in relation to social emotional and mental health and are a lead partner in the Mental Health Support Teams in schools funded via NHS England as well as leading on the children in care school/setting training and development agenda which includes delivering and implementing the Alex Timpson Programme on attachment and trauma aware schools in Kirklees. This role is designed to directly impact upon ensuring positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people and in particular, those with social, emotional and mental health needs in relation to building resilience.

Travel is an essential part of this job and therefore it would be extremely difficult for you to do your job effectively if you did not use a car for all or most of the time. It is essential that you hold a full and valid driving licence and have a car available for work.
