Teacher - The Pivot Academy
KIRKLEES COUNCIL ARE ADVERTISING THIS ROLE ON BEHALF OF THE PIVOT ACADEMY
At Pivot we believe children deserve better. In our academies we teach and support children and young people from Key Stages 1 – 5 who have been excluded from school, for whom mainstream education is simply not working, or those with an EHCP who require a specialist placement. Every day our teams do incredible work, making a huge difference to some of the most complex and challenging children, many of whom come to us with some really traumatic backgrounds. We are doing great things – but we have so much more to do.
Pivot Academy at Salus House opened in September 2021, providing additional high-quality capacity for children and young people with complex SEMH and other learning needs. Our provision supports KS3 and KS4 students and our team is committed to delivering the highest quality education, whilst offering a therapeutic and nurturing environment for learners.
Our class sizes are very small with high adult to pupil ratios and we are looking for a reflective practitioner with a strong passion for helping every learner in their care reach their full potential. Ideally, the candidate will have a background in delivering Food Technology.
Working at Pivot will give you a real chance to change our student’s lives, whether you are new to teaching or have been teaching for years, we are confident that you will find working at Pivot a rewarding experience.
Don’t miss this opportunity, apply now by completing an application form and returning to the HR team at recruitment@pivot-group.co.uk.
Closing Date: 3rd October 2022
We are committed to safeguarding our young people and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check and appropriate referencing.
